What Is an Add to Calendar Link?

An add-to-calendar link is a specially formatted URL that opens a calendar service with an event's title, date, time, and other details already filled in. Instead of asking someone to manually copy an event into their own calendar, a single click gets them most of the way there, with their calendar app open and ready for them to confirm and save.

You'll see these on event registration pages, webinar confirmations, ticket receipts, and calendar invites sent outside a formal invite system.

How the Calendar Link Generator Works

Fill in your event's details in the form above: title, description, location, date, time, and timezone. As you type, the preview panel shows exactly how the event will look. When you click Generate Calendar Links, this tool builds the correct URL format for each calendar service directly in your browser using standard web APIs, nothing is uploaded or processed on a server.

You'll get individual links for Google Calendar, Outlook, and Yahoo, a downloadable .ics file for Apple Calendar and everything else, and ready-to-paste HTML if you want to add calendar buttons to your own website or emails.

Supported Calendars

Google Calendar

Opens Google Calendar's own event-creation page with your title, dates, description, location, and recurrence already filled in.

Outlook

A link for personal Outlook.com accounts, opening Microsoft's event composer pre-filled with your event.

Microsoft 365

A separate link for work or school Microsoft 365 accounts. It uses the same event-composer format as Outlook.com, just through Microsoft's work/school sign-in instead of a personal one, so recipients land in the calendar tied to the right account.

Yahoo Calendar

Opens Yahoo Calendar's event page with your event details filled in. Yahoo's link format doesn't support recurring events, so a repeating event will show only its first occurrence here.

Apple Calendar and ICS

Apple Calendar doesn't have a web link format like the others, so this tool generates a standards-compliant .ics file instead, the same universal calendar file format that Outlook desktop, Thunderbird, and most other calendar apps can also open directly.

How to Add a Calendar Button to Your Website

After generating your links, open the HTML embed section, choose a button style, and copy the HTML button code. Paste it into your page's HTML wherever you want the buttons to appear, no JavaScript or extra setup required. Each button is a plain link styled with inline CSS, so it will keep working even on platforms that strip external stylesheets.

How to Add a Calendar Link to an Email

Most email clients strip embedded styles from pasted HTML, so a styled button often won't look the way it did in your browser once it lands in an inbox. For email, use the plain HTML link code instead, it's unstyled text links that inherit whatever font and color your email template already uses, which renders far more predictably across Gmail, Outlook, and mobile mail apps.
